HSC Grade Aluminum Toughened SiC offers excellent wear resistance while exhibiting increased fracture toughness.
HSC is recommended for applications at temperatures < 450C. The material is well suited for applications that see high velocity erosive impingement, such as coal ash handling components. Grade HSC-903 is used for applications in which a part can be formed to final net shape. Grade HSC-703 is used when green machining is required to attain tight tolerances and/or complex features. HSC grades are not recommended for service in corrosive environments.
